Future Gym Dog?

Audrey told us she wanted to take ballet, gymnastics, soccer, swimming lessons and art classes. I reminded her that she also has to go to school. So we told her to pick one and she has chosen gymnastics. She went to her first lesson at Spivey's and wanted to know if she can go back every day.

Work

This cartoon is making the rounds today at work. Dilbert has always described this place perfectly. And we have a document we are trying to get finalized by Friday and things keep changing. Luckily most of the people I work with have a great sense of humor...or else we would all go crazy. I also received official approval today to have a flexible work schedule when Audrey starts kindergarten (I'll be able to work from home in the afternoon so she can come straight home after school). Great news!

Camp Pettyjohn

The girls went on their first camping trip and probably would still be there if they had their choice. We went to Fort Yargo and had a great time. I am sure we will be off camping again before we know it. Thanks Cherise for inviting us!

Kelsey loves baseball. She is our little athlete. Look how she keeps her eye on the ball!

The girls had their fingers and toes painted at the camp nail salon (Cherise's daughter set up a salon one evening)

The Dauphin's and Ma and Papa came out for dinner. We grilled out and then had fun with smores and sparklers. The park ranger even visited us :)

Pictures from our hike:

Fishing seemed to be the favorite activity. Kelsey's caught a fish and Daddy reeled it in. Audrey touched it but Kelsey wanted nothing to do with it. But she is happy to tell people she caught a fish.
The fish loved Audrey and Kelsey. They decided it was easier to just drop the worms in the water and let the fish eat them. Then Audrey figured out if she ripped the worms in half she could feed the fish even longer. I would have never thought that a princess would rip worms in half!

We built a castle at the Fort Yargo beach and rode the pedal boats.

I'm Hungry

The water always seems to make you want to eat.

After Audrey swam around looking at the fish with her mask she came on shore to eat. We thought it was lunchtime and after eating we realized it was 10:30. Audrey: "If I eat all of my sandwich I will have lots of energy to swim and see even more fish."

We were eating at a really good steakhouse (Angelo's) and I finished my salad and set the plate to the side. Kelsey noticed it after a few minutes and said "is this mine?" and I replied "yes!" she starts chowing down on the leftovers. Who would know that a three year old would love salad?

Fire In the Hole!

We had lots of fun at the beach. We went on a pirate cruise which the girls loved. They learned to yell "there she blows!" "Argh mate" and "fire in the hole." They danced the chicken dance, the limbo, the conga line, had a water gun fight with another boat, a fake sword fight, and had their faces painted and arms tattooed. They heard stories of sunken treasure and even helped pull a treasure chest from the sea and got to pick out some loot for their help. The most fun for the adults was seeing the people on land hit the deck (or in one case drop their fishing pole) when the kids yelled fire in the hole and the captain fired a cannon ball (fake but loud).

Kelsey and Audrey were experts at the chicken dance...we know they didn't get their rhythm from me!

Audrey was a great big sister. On the pirate ship she took Kelsey around to all the activities and held her hand (as Audrey would say only when Kelsey wanted to hold hands). At one activity they were shooting foam cannon balls and Audrey had already caught one so when she caught another one she gave it to Kelsey to put in the barrel. Kelsey was so happy when she walked back to Audrey she gave her a big hug...it was so sweet. This was another hug moment.

Getting Audrey out of the water was a challenge. She loves getting crashed by the waves. She loves even more seeing someone else get hit by a wave. She loved swimming with the mask in the bay and seeing the millions of fish underwater (and a crab)!

Kelsey liked the beach but preferred the pool. She also loved the helicopters and airplanes that fly up and down the beach. She will gladly tell anyone who will listen all about it....she is still talking about it.

Surfer Girls

We just returned from Panama City. The girls loved riding the waves.
More pictures to come soon!

Our Daddy is So Strong!

Family Fun on the Fourth!

We try to have a "Family Fun Day" at least once a month. Basically we have a day where the girls get to pick what we do and we do all kinds of fun stuff. Below are pics from our Fourth of July Family Fun Day.
A trip to the Hello Kitty store...such decisions on what to pick!

Kelsey loves getting thrown into the air in the pool.

Audrey became an expert at balancing on Daddy's hand.

We went and saw Wall-E. This was Kelsey's first trip to the movies. She loved the popcorn but didn't care for the movie (actually none of us actually really liked the movie).

We went and saw the fireworks in Auburn with Ma and Papa and the Dauphin's.

Our Toy of Choice

For me it all started with a happy meal. I remember getting a little lego set as the prize and thought it was neat and convinced my dad to buy me some more. Over the years we have continued to add to the collection, especially when they came out with the Star Wars line. While Randy likes to be creative and can build all kinds of things without instructions; I like to build it exactly as the instructions indicate. Well this weekend we introduced the girls to the legos. Kelsey sat for hours and sorted the blocks by color while Audrey made up stories with all the lego people.

Below are some of the sets we have built...more to come!
